Community Consultation

Help us to secure funding for your community. We were unsuccessful with our first funding bid for a new Activities and Facilities manager post to arrange activities at both the new Dunragit Community Hub and at Glenluce Public Hall. We are missing one critical element in our applications: evidence of your support across the Old Luce community.

We feel that arranging activities ourselves, rather than relying purely on third party individuals to book the spaces, will greatly increase the activity at both facilities and assist us in the aims of bringing people together, reducing isolation and loneliness, and improving health and wellbeing for residents in our community. To secure funding for the post and for the related activities and equipment, we need to be able to demonstrate that the community will support the activities provided. Last year’s Dunragit Hub survey helped us greatly to gain funding for creating the hub, but we do not have the same information on desired activities and support for Glenluce. We also need more detail for Dunragit now, so we apply for funding for the right equipment for the activities that you want.

We have created a new survey to find out what activities to you want to see taking place at both facilities and in the wider community. We would strongly encourage all Old Luce residents to take part in this survey and have their say, which takes about 10 minutes to complete. This will enable us to target activities and to demonstrate that the funding is needed and that you would attend activities at one or both venues.
